How to Install HiCine APK on Android

HiCine APK is installed by sideloading — downloading the APK file directly and installing it yourself instead of using the Google Play Store. The whole process takes about two minutes. Follow the steps below for your Android version.

Step 1: Download the APK File

Get the latest release from our Download page and wait for the file to finish downloading. Do not open it yet.

Download HiCine APK v3.6

Step 2: Allow Installs from Unknown Sources

Android blocks APK installs by default. How you allow them depends on your Android version:

Android 8.0 (Oreo) and Newer

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Go to Apps & notifications → Special app access → Install unknown apps.
  3. Select the app you downloaded the APK with (usually Chrome or your file manager).
  4. Toggle Allow from this source to ON.

Android 7.0 and Older

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Security (or Lock screen and security on Samsung).
  3. Find Unknown sources and toggle it ON.
  4. Confirm with OK on the warning popup.

You can turn this setting back off after installing — the app will keep working.

Step 3: Install the APK

  1. Open your Downloads folder (or pull down the notification shade and tap the finished download).
  2. Tap the HiCine APK file.
  3. Tap Install and wait a few seconds.
  4. Tap Open — HiCine is ready to use. No signup needed.

Troubleshooting Install Errors

“Parse error: There was a problem parsing the package”

This usually means the download did not finish or the file is corrupted. Delete the file, re-download it from our Download page (preferably on Wi-Fi), and try again. It can also happen on very old phones running below Android 5.0 — HiCine needs Android 5.0 or newer.

Blocked by Play Protect

Google Play Protect may warn you because the app is not from the Play Store. If you downloaded the file from this page, tap Install anyway (or More details → Install anyway). This warning appears for every sideloaded app.

“App not installed”

Make sure you have at least 150 MB of free storage, and uninstall any much older copy of HiCine first if one is present. Then reinstall the fresh file.

Download won’t start or is very slow

Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi, or try a different browser. Some browsers block APK downloads by default — check the browser’s download settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to root my phone?

No. HiCine installs on normal, unrooted phones. Rooting is never required.

Will installing an APK harm my phone?

Installing an APK from a trusted source is a normal Android feature. Keep Play Protect enabled and only download the file from this page.

How do I update HiCine later?

Download the new version from our Download page and install it over the old one — your settings are kept. There is no in-app updater.

Can I install HiCine on a Firestick or Android TV?

Yes. The same APK works on Fire TV Stick (via the Downloader app) and Android TV. The steps are the same: allow unknown sources, open the APK, install.
